Borrow a Kick Sled
During winter, we offer free kick sled rentals for our hotel guests.
Riding Technique for Classic Kick Sleds
To ride a kick sled, you push the sled forward with one foot (hence the name), while resting the other foot on one of the runners. The hands grip the handlebar while kicking against the ground to propel the sled forward.
On flat ground, you gain as much speed from the kick-off as from the forward swing of the leg, which follows in a smooth rhythm.
Once the kick sled has gained speed, you can rest both feet on the runners and steer by shifting your body weight.
